Catching up

The title is the same as it always is. I feel like Im always "catching up" on the blog and every time I get behind, I swear it's going to be the last. It seriously gives me anxiety when I don't have it up to date. It really has become my journal and my version of "genealogy." It's always been important to me, but since the "Atticus bit" it has become even more important to me to keep it up, because as we now know, life can change and these journal entries and pictures are truly priceless!!

March 25th
I was so terrified to have boys, and I love them. I absolutely love them. I love their imaginations, their silliness, craziness, lack of cleanliness :), and this boy's got all those x10, just like his big brother!

According to Isaac:
* "Mom, Have you never dipped salsa in juice?" (He uses the phrase, "have you never" all the time, "Have you never been stuck in hot steam?" No idea where he comes up with this stuff)
*He calls goose-bumps "duck-bumps"
*He got into a little "fight" at school. The second he got home he said, "Mom, I punched ** at school. No, Im not kidding. I guess, one boy in his class wasn't being very nice to Isaacs buddy Collin, also in their class. According to Isaac he said, (in a very stern voice), "Collin's my friend!" To which the boy pushed Isaac and Isaac "punched" him. I panicked at first, called his teacher, who said, he was sticking up for himself and not to worry, they talked about better ways to handle the situation, and she assured me that Isaac is not a bully. Im not going to lie, part of me was upset that he punched the kid, but part of me was proud of him for sticking up for both him and Collin. After having talked to Ms. Marti, I talked to Isaac about using our "GENTLE HANDS" and that we don't want to push or punch people, but use our words and get help. To which he replied, "But mom, Im just going to use my GENTLE HANDS and throw him in the air!" I busted up laughing. So much for a learning experience. You have been warned people... watch out!!

Isabel is just now, 1 month later, starting to like baby food...

Clearly green peas are not on her top ten

April 1st
Working in the yard is therapeutic for me. I love it. And having a cute helper makes it even better!

April 2nd-- Story time
We get to story time, I get Isabel out of the car seat to nurse her when...
Ahhhh! No joke, I teared up when I saw this. For 2 wks straight, this girl had MAJOR blowouts every stinking day (pun intended!!). It was getting ridiculous. Thankfully, now that she is eating baby food, it is starting to slow down.  She doesn't even care which baffles me.

This is what cracks me up, I told Isaac I had to change Isabel and propped the door open, he came in for a second then decided he didn't any part in Isabel's clean up and took matters in to his own hands... He asked the Grandma Librarian for headphones, told her his name, and got settled at the computer.... He is getting waaaay too big.

Reading stories to Isabel!

They did a cute little skit. We love story time.

April 3rd
Happy month of Easter to my sweet Angel Atticus.
I have been working on a blog post specifically about him for at least a month. It's been a hard few weeks for me. I miss him like crazy. I know that will never change, but some times are just harder then others. This says it all:

April 4th
I got to visit this handsome chubby man! If you don't know of my "Texas Family" and Baby Caleb's story, you can check out their blog HERE

April 7th
I love her crazy hair. I do NOT love how big she's getting.

April 11th
Oh, Isabel, how I adore you. She is sunshine in baby form!

Seriously... Her cheeks are ridiculous! Her thighs are pretty awesome too.

"Lets Go Rangers!"
Eric and I got to go on a D-A-T-E. Their are very few things in life that make my husband happier than being at a baseball game! It was really fun. Really long (12 innings) but really fun. Leslie and I got a bit stir crazy and goofy at the end.

Look up a little and to the right of the baseball player... It's Pres. George Bush and the first lady. Our friends the Grady's were with us and Leslie about flipped. She was cracking me up and talked about them like the were her Grandparents!

April 12th
Pre-Easter, Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Taylor Family and very very fun.

..Egg Madness..

Isaac and Collin

The troops.. are..

READY!

I love his "I mean business" strut!

Happiness in an Egg. I secretly hoped that every single egg of his was filled with Kit-Kats. I really like them!

My super cute pudge pudge and Auntie Leah!

I love their chubby cheeks.

April 13th
Pretty for church
It was a big day for Isabel, Sunday was the first day that her newborn size shoes actually fit and stayed on her feet! Go Isabel Go! I love her so much. She is just the sweetest thing.

Hair... please stay red. please stay red. ANY version of red. Just pah-lease stay red.

"I'll eat you up, I love you so!"

April 14th
Isaac get's to watch a show while I shower in the morning. I noticed that he shut the bathroom door, but didn't think too much of it--- I should have known, THIS is what I got out to....
He had "painted" himself into a black tiger. He has NEVER drawn on himself before, so after my initial reaction of shock, and hearing his cute voice say, "Mooooom! I have a SU-Prise of you!" Then seeing the proud look on his face, I couldn't get mad. I told him he looked super awesome, but we need to leave the face painting to the people at the Arboretum and that we ONLY color on paper. The markers have since been but on lock down.

Mr. Caleb was scheduled for a Tracheostomy Monday. I dropped the kids off to Jocelyn (thank you-thank you-thank you) and went to the hospital to give him a kiss and a squeeze and tell his Mommy and Daddy how much we love them and how amazing they are doing. We sure love you Zeb and Leah. Hang in there.

April 15th
Monday and Tuesday of this week were pretty intense.  Zeb and Leah were put through the ringer and stretched emotionally and physically farther than they thought possible Surgery was supposed to be Monday but had to be pushed to Tuesday due to oxygen issues, this strong willed, handsome, chubby, NICU Giant, came out on top, proving a few doctors wrong, and did amazingly well. Things are still touch and go for awhile, but we are so relieved to have his surgery over with. We love the Fish family so very much and are so glad that Caleb has the trach. allowing him more interaction and kisses from his mom and dad (and me too of course!). Please continue to keep them in your prayers, Caleb's got some work to due and needs extra strength.

April 17th
Isabel cracks me up. This girl does NOT like to sit. This is what she does. Every. Single. Time.

Pre School Easter Party
Thank you Pinterst. Super Easy. Super Cute.

What?!? Guys can hug! Isaac talks about these two boys the most: Landon and Logan

He is always so excited when Isabel and I get to come to school! He told me, "Isabel is my favorite cousin!" I told him that she was his sister, and he said "Well, she's my favorite sister. I play with her all day!"
Isaac also talks about Scarlet (purple bucket) and Nadia (Elmo shirt).

The kiddo's VERY ready for the Easter egg hunt.

The egg hunt just happened to be in the prayer garden which is where Atticus' tree is. I touched the lettering of his name and blew him a kiss. Stuff like this makes me feel like Im going to wake up from this nightmare, that no way could this have happened to us.

The party was a big success... Happy Easter Weekend friends!
