Utah. And everything after...

Wednesday June 18th
I told Isaac to pack some toys in his suitcase and this is what he packed. ONE dart. Not the dart gun, just a single dart! Goof troop.

Sissy-Girl. Happy as can be!

Isaac was reading his "magazine." The kids were both great on the flight!!

Meeting our new niece Livvy-girl...

And nephew baby Will! Both SOOO cute. Isaac adored them.

Direct quote, "Mom! I want ALLLL the babies!" He wanted to hold them both all the time.

I really really like love love LOVE them!!

Thursday June 19th
LAGOON- flashback to the past. This was a super cool place in our younger years!
I love his squishy action face!

He and Zachy gearing up. I was a nervous wreck for him and had not need to be. He loved it.

THIS... I was not super happy about and didn't really want Eric to take him on this ride. Daddy and Isaac at the very front, Mommy and Zachy-boy right behind. I was super nervous and was kinda freaking out the entire ride. But again, my worry was unnecessary because he loved it and took Pop-Pop for a turn!

Boys and guns... it's inevitable.

Cute Grandma Becky and Isabel in matching orange.

Water pistol game...

Love these two.

Friday June 20th
HANGIN' OUT!
Oh how I love summer mornings in Utah. Beautiful cool weather. The Hansen hammock is icing on the cake. You could lay in it forever. They have an amazing view of the mountains and you combine all those things and two adorable kiddos... a little slice of heaven.

Pop-pop told Isaac that if he helped him in the yard he could earn a golden coin!!

Daddy-Daughter time!

Grandpa-Granddaughter time!

Cousin fun! Jay.. Charlie.. Emmie

Emmie and Isabel

Aunt Michelle (who will be having a baby BOY in November!!) and Isabel!

Saturday June 21st
HALF MARATHON
Yes you read that right. Eric and I trained for a HALF MARATHON! Eric brought this idea up around March and I told him "Heeeeeck NO!" But the  man was relentless and after pestering me for a few weeks and me snapping at him saying, "I DONT WANT TO DO IT. SO BACK OFF," I finally agreed and we signed up for the American Fork Canyon- Half Marathon "Live.. Survive.. Thrive" It was a cancer run where 100% of the proceeds went to families in Utah currently battling cancer. So we trained with Atticus in our hearts.

Our training began in April, with a google search of how to train, a stop at the store "Run-On" for the right equipment and so began a goal I thought dang-near impossible. In fact I thought is was so IMPOSSIBLE that I told Eric he could NOT tell ANYONE. Like no one. I didn't want anyone knowing we were training, Just in case I decided I couldn't do it and backed out.

I would run T/TH mornings then Eric and I would do our long runs on Saturday. I would wake up between 5:30-6am and run then he would run when I got back. It was after I ran 8 miles that it sank in... "I could do this... I'm actually going to do this!" But I still didn't really tell anyone.

We were both anxious and excited the night before and our kids of course slept terrible that night so with about  4 solid hours of sleep, our alarm went off at 3:45 AM (we had to catch the last bus at 5:00am) we headed to American Fork.

The bus ride felt like we were "outsiders" in an "insiders" club. People were bragging up how many races they have done and how fast they did them in. Eric and I both looked at each other with a "here goes nothin' look" and joked about how cool we are going to after the race!
Almost game time. The race started at 6 and it was 5:50am

My secret agent number!!

This was my view. Pretty amazing right? I love Utah. The race was going great. I was at a pace that felt comfortable, loving the cool temperature (it was getting pretty dang hot running in Texas), and was so proud of myself that I was doing it. There were cancer signs all along the way and for the most part I ignored them, not wanting to get too emotional. I was in my zone when, I saw this...

(I know its blurry, but I was sweaty and emotional)

My heart beating a mile a minute,  my first reaction was, there is NO WAY that there is another Atticus, It has to be mine. Then I read "Mom and Dad" and thought Lance and Becky must have had the sign made. But then I read "Cindy and TY Hansen and thought, okay, this has to be a typo and my amazing husband must have done this.

I got to the sign, stopped running and felt it coming, I was falling a part. The flood gates had been opened. All the hard training I had done, the times on my long runs that my feet would hurt and I was tired and hot, but would think of my sweet Atticus and how brave he was and how he never complained but kept going, put me in my place and I would push past my self-doubt and fear and keep running. Seeing that sign brought all that emotion out and I was on the verge of loosing it. And I knew that if I lost it, there would be a good chance that I wouldn't be able to finish the race (the sign was at mile 11).

So here I am, at the sign, falling a part when I notice a guy running against the crowd and towards me and the sign. I thought, "What is going on here? This HAS to by my Atticus. I'm SURE this is my Atticus. No an Atticus for him." The runner, got up to the sign and it was just what I needed. I didn't want to fall a part in front of a stranger, it snapped me out of it, I kissed my hand then touched then sign, wiped my tears and started running again.

Not a minute or two later I felt an encouraging pat on my shoulder. It was that same runner that was at the sign. "What a nice guy" I thought. Again grateful for the interruption. I passed mile marker 12 and was on the home stretch.

As I was entering the last 1/2 mile I saw Lance and Becky with the kids. All of them holding signs! It made me feel so loved supported and motivated to get to that finish line. I had worked so hard. We both had worked so hard and to have them there (my dad came too, I just hadn't seen him yet) meant so so much to me. As I passed them I ran close and yelled, "Hi Isaac!!!" And ran my heart out through the finish line. I did it!!! I ran 13.1 miles. I.. Flipping.. Did it!!!

I'm not much of a selfie gal, but I had to get one of me past the finish line. I did it in 2.10. My fastest time yet!!

This metal is for you sweet boy. Thank you for being such an amazing example of bravery and helping mommy do something she thought impossible. I love you. xoxo

Eric wasn't far behind me and it was an emotional embrace. Despite our sweaty stinky bodies we hugged and shed a few tears (ok, I shed a lot of tears) then we blew kisses to heaven for our sweet boy.
My dad, There to congratulate us and share in our emotional victory! Thanks again for being there dad. I love you.
Then we found these important people...

Becky was holding the Atticus sign while Lance and Isaac held the orange and blue ones!

Isaac was excited to see me and Eric but was SUPER excited to see Grandpa Jim!

Isabel was excited to see me, but only because she wanted to eat. Nothin' like nursing you baby after running for two straight hours...

We love you Atticus.

So here's the cool story: After that race, Eric and I wanted to grab one more water before walking to the car when we ran in to Brian and Ann Wells. Ann is one of my sister-in-laws good friends. She and her husband are runners and obviously ran the American Fork half.

Remember that guy that ran towards the Atticus sign, then gave me and encouraging pat on the back???? It was Ann's husband. Here's the crazy part. He had obviously passed the sign before me but felt like he needed to go back and take a picture of it. He kept running but the prompting came again, so he turned around and ran back to the sign. It just happened to be at the exact same time as I was approaching the sign. I, 100% believe that Atticus orchestrated this. My sweet Atticus knew I was about to fall a part and knew I would need someone to help me re-focus and keep going. I, 100% believe that he prompted Brian to turn back around to not only take a picture of the sign, but a tender picture of me kissing the sign and running towards the finish line. How's that for divine intervention? Pretty amazing I say.
These are the pictures he took...

The drive home from the race was surreal. We were both exhausted but so proud of ourselves. Training together was such a great bonding experience for us and we will definitely do another.

Gear up friends and family.... June 2015... we are ALL doing together. 13.1 baby!!

BIRTHDAY BASH
I have a pretty amazing husband. He planned a birthday party for me Saturday night. And it was SO.. MUCH.. FUN.. Everyone came over around 5:30pm.

Boys being boys!!

Eric put Stacie over decorations and in his text to her he said, "And a life-size pinata of Cindy."

We were all laughing so hard. Yes that is me, wearing my moms glasses. You don't have to tell me how adorable I was, I'm fully aware!! Yikes!

Eric make some yummy BBQ and after we were all stuffed and ready to pop the games began. That's right folks, my cute hubby even planned games.
Stacie and I were holding lit candles and it was a relay to see who could blow it out first with a water gun...

Then it was the relay, of soccer kicks, basketball hoops, and a somersault.

And for the big finale.... he made a personalized jeopardy all about me! Isn't that so cute. It was really fun. Let's just say I add a lot of ditsy fun to the Hansen clan!!

Sarah-Jane made me this AMAZING birthday cake and it was so SO good.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful. It was outside and had the most amazing view and white roses everywhere. We walked down the aisle to "Best Days of our lives" by American Authors. When Jenny walked down the aisle holding on to my dad, I burst in to tears. She looked so beautiful and so happy and my dad looked so proud. Then I looked at Matt and he was overcome with emotion. After they exchanged rings, the officiator (persona that marries them?) so something sweet about it this not only being a union of Matt and Jenny but of Jacie, Kennedy, and Fischer. Wednesday July 2nd
 BACK to TEXAS-

July 3rd...
We missed waking up to family but were happy to be home with Daddy.

Utah is always SUPER busy, sleep... not in the plans, so this little boy came home VERY tired and slept through our entire shopping trip at Costco!!

July 4th...
Happy Birthday America!
This was one of the first outfit's I bought as soon as I found out I was having a girl!!

America should have birthday's more often just so she can wear this cute little number again and again and again!!

The plan was to meet up the Grady's at 3 to swim then we were going to BBQ for dinner... As soon as we got to the pool, the dark clouds came in. In Eric's previous life he was a meteorologist (kidding of course) and after a weather.com check we decided to stick it out...

We took shelter, chatted, ate a few snacks and took a few pictures...

In no time, the sun was out and we had the pool to ourselves!! This boy LOVES to swim.

July 7th...
The morning started with smiles and cuddles...

then the rest of the day was spent like this.

July 9th...
May I introduce you to a little virus called Hand Foot and Mouth. AKA: worst virus EVER!!!
Atticus had it twice and it was not nearly as terrible. Poor Isaac was absolutely miserable. He had blisters everywhere. And every morning he woke up it was worse.

We had a week of one sad tired fussy little guy.

I tried super hard to keep the kids a part, and thought by the looks of this sweet thing, we had kept the terrible virus away from her.

I was wrong. Thankfully it didn't hit her as hard...

July 10th...
Isaac, however, just kept getting worse and worse and worse.
His poor little feet got it the worst. Eventually those blisters bubbled up and covered most of his feet.

July 11th...
We went to the Dr. again and the poor guy got a secondary infection. Thankfully we could use an antibiotic ointment and it cleared up within two days.
Man I love this kid.

His smile is just the sweetest thing!

According to Isaac:
* (I told him we needed to get his haircut) "Nooooo! But... they will ruin my spikes. (Me: They'll do new ones), "But they don't do them the same as you do!"
* He is on a Pocahontas kick and call's Kocoum, "Kooo-koo-um!"
* "MOM!! If I eat fire, I will get a big interesting blister on my TEETH!"
* While we were in Utah Eric stayed in TX during the work week and would fly in for the weekends. He had gotten in late the night before so when Isaac woke up, Daddy was there!! When he saw him (Daddy was in bed) he said, "I wanna give you a big hug! Can you stand up?!"
* He also said, "Dad, did you go back to my home in Texas to get things? Like, shoes and clothes?!"
* I told Isaac that I was going to get in the shower and he said, "But FIRST, you gotta talk to me and THEN shower!.... So mom?! How's your day?!" (Keep in mind this conversation happened at a bright and early 8am and we spent every waking moment together since he woke up at an even brighter and earlier 6:30am).
* He is so weird with smells. Like SO weird. He doesn't like the smell of chobani yogurt. He'll eat raw bell peppers but doesn't like the smell of cooked peppers.
* I had just put him to bed when he needed help to go to the bathroom. I went upstairs, to help him and he said, "Mom? What did you just ATE? (I had a piece of zucchini bread and I told him that), when he said, "I smell a cookie in your tummy."

I love watching them interact with one another.

July 12th...
The first day that actually wanted to eat. He requested German Pancakes! He ate half the pan.

I love having a park so close and really like this view.

Isaac likes to go crazy in the swing.

Isabel is still making up her mind.

"Peek-a-boo!"

She is getting too big too fast.

July 13th...
Poor little polka dots.

Poor little baby blister.

First Isaac. Second Isabel. THEN.. Eric came home from work early Friday with a fever of 103.7 and Strep throat. He was so so sick. Miraculously, I stayed healthy.

This girl loves tomatoes.

July 14th and 15th...
Viewing and funeral for Caleb. Out of respect for the Fish family, I won't be posting pictures, but Leah will be when she is ready. It was perfect. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful boy.

July 16th...
PIRATE CAMP!
Jene's cute girls, Madeline and Gloria are doing summer camps and do THE cutest job. Each camp has a theme with coordinating crafts activities and decorations. Isaac had SO much fun. So so much fun.
Doesn't he make a fierce pirate (although he insisted, that he was a bandit)!

The cute sign the girls made.

"Arrrgh"

Pirate games.

Pirate craft.

Pirate battle.

Pirate "naps."

Pirate shipwreck!

He had SO.. MUCH.. FUN..

We got home, got him lunch, he was a bit a lot feisty and had to go to time-out. He was in there for exactly 2.47 min (odd time I know, I just pushed buttons), and this tired little pirate crashed.

He fell asleep on the stairs!

July 17th...
"It's raining. It's pouring. The old man is snoring.!" Sometimes you just have to play in the rain.

We decided to take shelter in a bounce house!
Best $5 ever.

This poor little guy. The is the repercussion of those nasty blisters. His entire feet were shedding like a snake. They were so tender and hurt him to walk.

The new skin looks so tender.

Friends.

July 18th...
We had 3 days of COOL weather and it was so nice. So we bundled up and went to the park!

Sissy-Girl is climbing up on everything. She is trouble!!

July 19th...
Backyard water slide fun!!

SO much fun!

Shark face...

Love his squishy nose-

And kissy lips!

Saturday afternoon bowling.
He was BEYOND excited to have big enough feet to wear (his EXACT words...) "click click with his tongue, bowling shoes."

Go-Go-Go!

"I hit one pin!"

Isabel is 10 months old!

Her adorable fake cry face!

June 20th...
I really like waking up to this cute little thing!

July 21st...

Her "I don't want anymore!" face.

Isaac showing me how strong he is!

We had one quick errand to run in the afternoon, and this is how I had to do, one baby in the front pack and one very heavy very much asleep Mr. Isaac. This nap/no nap thing is killin' me.

July 22nd...
Bounce House Fun
3 hours exhausting fun.

Bounce house baseball-- two of this boys favorite things.

I took her on a few slides and she liked it.

Isaac loved the "dark" room.

And these big 'ol boxing gloves that he could hardly lift!

My little helper.

July 23rd...
Swimming.
Greasy hair anyone?

This boy and his swimming gear!

Where's Isabel?

Isaac has taken an interest in picking Isabel up... not so happy about that.

Like I said, she is climbing up on everything.

July 24th...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY AMAZING HUBBY!
I am so lucky to have married this guy. I really love him.
35 years young babe.

I quickly went to the bathroom and found this terrifying thing...

It's been a busy month. Busy and fun.

I love all your pictures! Your sister looked gorgeous and i totally think that was a sign from Atticus with the man in the race! The signs from God are all around and that was an amazing one! Can't even take how cute Isabel and Issac are! Xo

It was great to meet you after the race in American Fork. I recognized your sweet boys face on the sign right away. That was an incredible but emotional day. My sisters and i and some friends ran in honor of my 13 yr old niece who just passed away from cancer last feb. We also.passed a sign in her honor. True cancer fighting warriors they both were! I am sure atticus is proud of you:)
