Thankful...

Im thankful for my dear friend Elaine who made us an AMAZING Atticus memory quilt. Eric and I both broke down when we saw it. She did such an amazing job. She practically stayed up from dawn to dusk for an entire week making it. Each stitch is by hand. EACH one. Eric said, "It's so perfect Im afraid to touch it. I don't want it to get worn out!" We love it so much. Each article of clothing has such special meaning to us with a story behind it. The top and bottom of the quilt is lined with his basketball shorts. He LOVED his basketball shorts.

Thank you Elaine. From the bottom of our hearts. Thank you.

Im VERY thankful Eric. My husband is a good man. A really really good man. Im very lucky and very thankful to have him by my side.

I am also very thankful for the handsome little man sitting in his lap. Even though he's in an intense clingy faze at the moment, this boy has "saved" Eric and I many times. His excitement for life, food :), and love for us is exactly what we need to help us through the hard times.

He painted a pumpkin for the cemetery

I wasn't kidding when in a previous post I said how seriously he takes his ball throwing!!
I love his lips!!

He's a bit of a tornado at the moment :).....

Yes some days are ridiculously hard and you find yourself saying, "It's not fair" but amidst the heartache you find how blessed you really are. That you have not been left alone. That Heavenly Father prepared you as best as possible. That He gives us amazing husbands, children, family, friends,  strangers that are now friends, supportive communities and jobs to help see you through trying times. And for that I am very thankful.

Thank you for your continued love and support. You will never know, never, how much it means to us.

Oh my goodness. I am in awe over that quilt. Every single piece of it are things I have seen him wearing in many pictures. What an amazing woman to be able to capture that sweet little boy's spirit. I can't even imagine how much this means to you. All you want to do is hold it, but like Eric said, you don't dare to touch it and wear it out. So amazing! Thank you, Elaine...you have touched all of our hearts with this gift.

I've been following your blog since shortly after Atticus was diagnosed. I saw something on Pinterest that I wanted to share with you. Somebody bought a shadow box and filled it with their little boys cars after he grew up and no longer played with them. I thought maybe it would be something you might want to do for some of Atticus' favorite cars. All the cars were stacked on top of each other in rows - it looked really cool. Anyway, it was a thought. I miss your little Atticus. I'm sorry he's not here for you.
