The weekend has a whole new meaning for us. The weekend means Atticus being de-accessed, breakfast at breakfast time, no rushing to radiation, worry free bathtime. We LOVE the weekends! Saturday morning the little boys and I did a donut run! And big news.... he got in his car seat BY HIMSELF! It was AMAZING. He was so proud of himself and so was I (he hasn't been able to do it again but progress is progrss and I am darn proud). We decided to eat at the donut shop and I think the owners were in awe of how much Mr. Atticus could eat! I had to remind him that we can always come back again... We don't need to order one of everything! It has just been the last couple of days that Atticus has really played. It was really good to see! He loooves his hot wheels!
Atticus has made HUGE progress and we are so happy and excited. He is walking fabulously. And for the most part independent. He can't get up by himself but once he is up he's walking all over the place. And even bigger news... HE HIT A GOLF BALL! I totally teared up. He was only kind of excited because he didn't hit it very far, so he didn't want to stay out long. But he did it! Atticus played golf! Prayers are being heard and being answered!
Chunk really likes Atticus' hot wheels too!
I LOVE this picture! Is he not the cutest thing. I want to squeeze those thunder thighs all day long.
This little boy thinks he is big stuff. Although his favorite word is "Uh-oh" he can say hello, bye, and thank you (sounds like da-do). He does the pageant wave, is making the cutest & funniest facial expressions and can get himself in sitting position from crawling position. All by himself!!! Go Chunky go!
Now, the problem is, that along with all these wonderful things he is now doing, he has also decided that sleep is for the birds. He is waking up 3-4 times a night and is no longer napping like a champ! I'll be honest we have had a "few" incredibly frustrating nights. Apparantly both our children feel like sleep is something that neither Eric or I need. I am here to tell you, It's not true. We do need it. And miss it. Terribly!
Bishop Larsen came to visit us Saturday afternoon and it was wonderful. Sometimes we feel like we are in a bubble trapped in our house, so a visit every now and again is awesome (as long as the visitor is healthy and sanitizes of course!). We LOVE Bishop Larsen. He is an amazing man. Eric and I feel so lucky to be "under his wing." Atticus adores him as well and was so excited when we told him he was coming. He stood at the window watching and waiting for him to get to the house!
SUNDAY February 5th
Thank you to all of those who participated in our families fast for Atticus. It was a beautiful Sunday. The best fasting experience I have ever had. The spirit was so strong at church and although it was hard to hear Eric bare his testimony (a somewhat declaration of what we feel, believe, and experience)I am so grateful that I put my nerves aside and attended church with him. The words he said were beautiful. I have an amazing husband with great faith and love for our Savior. He is so dedicated to me and the kids. We are lucky. Very very lucky. Listening to my sweet husband choked with emotion got the better of me. I had to step out I was crying so hard. We truly felt the love and strength from our friends ward members and loved ones. It was a really special meeting. Again, thank you to those who joined us in our plea and for contributing to such an amazing day and experience.
It was a great Sunday. We played. Took the boys for a wagon ride. Watched a little football and ended our great weekend with a tub stories and some good snuggle time!
Tell me you don't want to eat those chubby cheeks up! He is the cutest chubbiest thing. His poor little tummy is stretched to the max. His belly button is going to pop any day now! He thinks it's pretty funny to tell me he looks like me when Isaac was in my tummy! *Buddy, I got ya beat. Big time. I was waaaay bigger. Large and in charge to be exact*
So, cheers to a great weekend.

I SEE IMPROVEMENT! It is wonderful to see Atti looking better ! We also know that prayers are answered. We will keep you in ours, every day! We are gratful for blessings in our lives!
I found your blog from the Hales. I hope you don't mind me commenting, but I wanted to say how happy I am for you and little Atticus! We learn in life to celebrate the little things, and for Atticus to hit a ball? So wonderful! My heart goes out to you and your family, and because of the Internet, my family and I can be one more prayer sent in Atticus's behalf. Thank you for teaching me to treasure each moment.
I too found your blog from the Hales (I don't know them either, they are friends of some family of mine). Thank you for being so willing to share your journey so publicly; I look forward to reading your posts each day. I am so happy for you and for Atticus (who is precious btw) that he has made some improvements this week! What a trouper he is! I am inspired by your strength, your wisdom and complete faith in the Plan of Salvation. I also LOVE how cheerful you seem to always be in your photos (though I am sure some days it is a struggle to appear so). Please know that prayers are being offered from the east coast in behalf of your sweet family.
So happy to see you had a great weekend! I really loved Eric's testimony as well as yours. You two are amazing people with an amazing little boy. We are so lucky to be a part of your lives. Love you!
I love those chubby cheeks too. I'm so incredibly happy for all the little bits of improvement in Atticus. I'm grateful for both of your testimony's yesterday. You guys are such an example to us. Hopefully the boys can start sleeping better, so you both can get some sleep. We love you so much.
