Aside from one major meltdown, Atticus had a great morning. No tears. Yesterday, Wendy (our cute nurse) had trouble getting blood from his port. So, as soon as we got there she took us back to check it out. All is well. She got great blood return.
Dr. Davis was the anesthesiologist today! YAHOO! He's our favorite. While in the waiting Atticus found a nickel, he was very excited to show it to Dr. Davis! Funny boy. As they were giving him the sedative Atticus said it tasted salty. Some day's he tastes it and some days he doesn't.
We saw Dr. Goldman right after (Oncologist). He was really excited with how well Atticus is doing. He is getting more movement from his right eye. In the beginning he could only move his eye 1/3 to the center and now it can almost move TO the center. We asked what his vision is or if they had any idea... he said that he relies mostly on his left but after doing a few visions "tests" .. follow this, closer your left eye.. what color is this.. that he still can see some out of his right eye. He has gained 7 pounds. We asked if that was a lot or normal and they reassured us it was normal. He's a big fan of stretchy pants lately!!
Once our visit was over Atticus walked out on his very own! It was a really good moment for Eric and I.
This morning, Atticus had the brilliant idea that instead of buying a racer with his "Brave Points" he wanted to use his saved up points and buy light up sketchers! He has been wanting them for so long but there was no way I was going to pay $50 for a pair of shoes for my kiddo. I don't even pay $50 for my own pair of shoes. BUT this cute little chubby faced boy has us wrapped around his chubby little fingers and after naptime our sketcher excursion began.
Why is is that when you want to purchase a specific item you cannot find a specific item. We went to Sears. None. We went to Stride Rite, but the didn't have the ones he wanted. We went to famous footwear.. they had one pair, but they weren't "cool" enough. He decided that that ones with "fire" were the ones he wanted. So back to the mall we went. Stride Rite was the winner. Thank you Aunty Jenny. He LOVES them and feels SUPER cool. He told me that they are going to make him run super fast!
Eric had a meeting with the firm today. Can I just say we L-O-V-E love love love Eric's company. They have been amazing. WE feel so blessed to be employed by such an amazing firm. They truly have value in the family unit. They have taken personal interest in our family. We really feel like given our circumstances, we couldn't ask for better "circumstances." We have a loving supportive family. Great friends. An awesome ward family. And an absolutely FANTASTIC job. Thank you Locke Lord. We can never repay your kindness, your support, your love, and concern. It is overwhelming. We feel so blessed.
Jenny and Bethany kept the kids so that Eric and I could go out to dinner. It's the first time we have escaped in awhile. It was so good to be with one another, talking about something other than cancer. We laughed. Laughter is a great medicine. I love my husband. With all my heart.
It was a great day. It's been 4 great days in a row!
Aunt Bethy got Atticus a new BYU shirt and football. They were BIG hits. This kids LOVES his cougs.
Funny things he's said,
* "Im a hungry man tonight. I want to eat now now now!"
* (on his way to the potty)... "Good afternoon gentleman. Im going stinkers!"
* I need to sanitize. My hands are a little cranky!"
* (he can't have food 1.5-2 hours before his chemo and he really wanted a snack)... "This makes no sense at all. None sense. I don't even know when 10:30 is. I just makes no sense!" (10:30 is the time he thinks he gets up to have his 3 am snack.

I want to kiss his cute chubby cheeks. They are so so rosy!
I'm so glad you have such a good husband who is so supportive and loving and faithful. Reading about his testimony and faith in God's plan for your family makes me smile. I hope one day to meet someone as good as he is! Eric you are a keeper, no doubt about it!
I am continually amazed by Atti's positive outlook, his happy nature, and all the funny things he says and does. I'm so glad he's making progress. I'm so glad that this has been a good week!
You guys are amazing!
I love his funny little way of saying things. Crackin' me up. Such a character! Glad to hear you had four good days in a row too. And hearing that you and Eric had some time together is AWESOME!
Dean has those same light up 'fire shoes' (they carry them at Burlington Coat Factory - for future refrence - for a lot cheaper) and he has the same idea that they make him MUCH faster -- funny how they have the same idea about them.
Glad to hear you're having so many good days in a row!!!
We love you guys!

I'm so happy you guys are having some great days. I'm also so glad that you are Eric could go out together--it's always nice to have some time with the hubby away from everything especially right now. You guys have incredible strength. I'm so glad each of you as the other to lean on. I absolutely love Atticus. I love all his craziness and silly sayings. He's so smart and so witty. I'm so happy that today was a great day for him! Love you all!
Hooray for four great days! SO good to hear!
Could that little man have a cuter personality? Really?! I think not. He is a total crack up! Loved the "workout" video you sent! Too cute. I'm jealous that Chris is on that plane to TX tomorrow and not me.:) He's been instructed to give those adorable cheeks some extra squishes and kisses from myself and his cousins!
Love you guys!
