You know the saying, "The family that prays together stays together" Im going to add to it, "plays together."
Eric and I have the most amazing families. The second they heard about Atticus, plane tickets were purchased and the "family rotation" began. Through this traumatic and emotional experience Eric and I have come to realized how important family is. And how blessed we truly are. Given this crappy situation we are in, we have been given incredible blessings. The blessing of amazing families, supportive and loving friends and strangers who are now friends. An amazing job who realizes the importance of family. A loving ward/church who continues to amaze us with their constant dedication. Two AMAZING boys that put a smile on their faces each morning reminding their parents to put one on theirs! And last but not least, a strong marriage. A partnership that has grown even stronger.
Would I LOVE to change our circumstances right now? YES YES and YES. But I can't. So I count my blessings. There have been times in my life where I chose not too. I regret it. No good comes from it. So this trial, though the hardest thing I will ever face, will not beat me down. I will count my blessings and try my darndest to always count my blessings even in my darkest hour. Crazy how hind sight gives you a glimpse of how the Lord has prepared you for trials. It makes the dark times not quite so dark and the light times pure happiness! Life is hard but we are blessed.
Here a few pics of our incredible families... We love you. We couldn't do it without you. XOXO

Love them all ...and don't know Eric's side....or the ward...or the employers.... but pretty darn sure we are calling them "ours". Hug the Hansen's and hold them for all of us who can't do it ourselves! Hope the week is a good one.
I love your outlook on life. You amaze me. Even through this incredibly hard time, you look on the positive. I'm a better person because I have you in my life. Thanks for being an inspiration to me and reminding me of the things that really matter in this life-the Gospel, family, friends, and how we handle the trials we are given. I love you and your amazing family. Keep doing what you are doing. You are doing great!!!
Cindy, once again you amaze me! You are so good at looking on the bright side of things. I'm so glad you have such wonderful family. And we are so lucky to be your friends. You guys continue to teach all of so much. Love you!
That's my Cindy. Counting her blessings! I remember when we were both new moms exhausted, overwhelmed, and about ready to quit you and your sunny outlook always brought me back on track. You shine bright Cindy and that is and will be a big strength to you and yours. You go girl, count on.
I've said it before and I will say it again. You are my hero! What a great attitude. Every time I read your posts, I am uplifted and I feel happy and better about life. You are amazing!!!
this is what we were talking about (my Sunday text!). This is why you are amazing and a blessing to your family! Not many people can pull off a smile and positive outlooks...(like myself!) You inspire me and from reading the comments everyone else, too!
I came across your blog while following another little boy with DIPG. I have been touched by your words and am praying for your family. May God grant you strength and peace while you endure these challenges. I find this scripture to bring me comfort when I am overwhelmed and it helps me to know that God is aware of me.
DC 121:7-8 "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment. Then, if thou endure it well, God will exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes."
