October 27th
Home from the hospital and and showered in kisses and cuddles!
October 28th
Isaac absolutely adores Lily. He grabbed the step stool from the pantry so that he could sit next to her.
Just a few of the cute things I have heard him say...
* Look at her tiny toes!
* I love my baby sister Lily!
* Mom!! I saw her tiny little teeth :)
* It was 6:30am he was in bed with us (he usually crawls in bed with us between 1 am- 3 am), he quietly got out of bed and went over to Lily and whispered, "I'll always protect you." He didn't know I was awake and listening or that it brought a few happy tears.
* Lily's so beautiful
A random thing he said that cracked us up... Eric was trying to find a particular hockey game on TV and we couldn't figure out what channel it was on when Isaac pipes up and says, "Dad- It's only on WiFi HDTV!!"
Blurry picture but I love it. He's telling Isabel to "Shhh! Lily is sleeping!"
Sibling love!
Somehow, petite Isabel now looks big!!
She feeds her baby while mommy nurses Lily.
Love all the baby faces!
Lily is such a peanut!
Pumping. Just like mommy!
Night-night sweet girl!
October 29th
Waking up at night isn't so bad when I get to love on this chubby cheeked snuggle bug. Lily is SUCH a good baby. We've had a few rough nights but I really can't complain. She is an absolute sweetheart.
Her little newborn clothes are a bit too big :)
So thankful for my amazing friends. The kids spent the day with Jocelyn and had lots of fun!
So So SOOOO glad Grandma Becky could hop a flight to help us transition!
She kept everything under control! We love you Grandma Becky!
Love her little criss-cross froggy legs.
October 30th
Morning discussion then...
Morning snuggles!
I love how much he loves her.
Wacky Tacky Day at School!
He LOOOVED his crazy hair. And I LOOOOVED how happy it made him.
Sleeping beauty.
Lily's 5 day check up was the day before Halloween. Luigi took her vitals!!
Not every newborn gets their 5 day check up don't by the KARATE KID clan!!!
"Put him in a body bag Johnny!!"
They are such little miracles. It absolutely amazes me.
Dr. Straughn. The worlds BEST pediatrician. Seriously. He's the best.
He gave Lily two thumbs up and said she, "Looks like a million bucks." She was down to 6.5 lbs but nothing out of the ordinary. Her little heart murmur disappeared and she is just perfect.
Lots of sleep time! For Lily of course :)
Pre-Halloween festivities...
Headed to Trunk-or-Treat at the church!
Black Ninja
"Cute little ghost!"
Lily and I stayed home and did a whole lot of this....
(love her milk mustache)
And I got lucky and caught this!!!
The kids had tons of fun. Isaac came home painted as a tiger and Isabel was a mouse!
October 31st
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Were Lily is you will almost always find Isaac!
Carving Pumpkins... why is it that with boys, everything is a weapon!!
Using the pumpkin knife was the highlight of the entire process.
Grandma made "Witches Potion." Big hit with the kids.
Isabel was mesmerized then...
Nervous!
Costumed up and ready to hit the Halloween Trail!
I wish I would have videos Isaac's first reaction to his costume. It was THE greatest. We could not put it on him fast enough. He climbed on the bathroom counter and just stared at his awesome black ninja self. Then started doing stretches and ninja moves. It was awesome.
Watch out Sunnyvalians, black ninja Isaac is on the loose!!
Isabel would say, "Boo!! to YOU!"
Cute little Lily!!
Mommy got to go for a few minutes while Grandma stayed with Lily!
Lots of friends. Lots of fun. Lots of candy.
November 1st
Morning snuggles.
I love his "proud brother" face!
Isaac was with Daddy so mommy and Isabel painted!
Lily is SUCH a sweetheart. She really is such a good baby. She hardly cries, but when she does, she really does, then two seconds later....
Calm and peaceful, with her froggy legs crossed!!
Oh how I love her!
And this little girl... one big hot mess!!! She as with my others, has us in stitches laughing or is a whiny mess. But we wouldn't have her any other way. She is always singing. Always dancing. Always dressing up... She keeps us very entertained. The adjustment has been the hardest on her. She loves Lily but she's two, so being "gentle" isn't one of her strong points right now. She's having quite a few tantrums which is part of being two and part of being de-throned for a bit. But all in all she is handling it pretty well.
Watching football with Daddy.
Clearly we need to baby proof the baby!
Poor Little Lily.
November 2nd
Morning snuggle time.
Sweet baby girl.
Mommy's girl... but it should say, "Isaac's girl!"
Isabel got to spend the day with Auntie Leah and Lexie!
She had tons of fun.
November 3rd
Grandpa and Grandma Romera are here!!!
Isabel got an Anna dress, which she flipped a lid over.
And Isaac got a Bionicle-which rocked his world!
Sassy pants headed my way!
Dressed up in their big brother and big sister shirts headed to Urban Air to BOUNCE.
Lily - Loo- I love you!
November 4th
Yes a million pictures, but I just love her and think she is the cutest thing.
Me and my GIRLS!!!!
Lily and I took a little walk around the neighborhood!
Isaac loved to play games on Grandma Shawna's phone and Isabel...
Loved to eat the food they brought home from Costco!!
"Gasp!!! Baby! Lily! Sh Sh Sh Sh!!!"
Easy Isabel. Easy!
November 5th
Morning snuggle time.
The Perot Museum with Grandpa and Grandma. A girls always got to look her best. Even at the museum.
Isabel things the swing is for her!
Grandpa Jim and Lily time!
I had started the tub to bath Lily. Left to go get her things and found this...
Oh Isabel. What am I going to do with you!
So peaceful...
Then all heck broke loose. It is safe to say the Lily, does NOT enjoy her bath time.
Isn't she so tiny?
She really really did not like her time in the tub.
Or getting lotioned up.
Wore the poor little thing right out.
November 6th
So.... Lily's Newborn Screening came back and guess who else has Biotinidase deficiency? Yep, you guessed it. Lily. BOO! I know I'm being a baby, it's not that big of a deal, a totally easy fix and one that we've been doing for Isaac since he was two weeks old, but It still broke my heart. We had to go in a few days early for her two week check up to get blood work done for a repeat test but Dr. Straughn said to go ahead and start giving her Biotin every day. It occurs in one out of 60,000 births.
What is biotinidase deficiency?
Biotinidase deficiency is an inherited disorder in which the body is unable to recycle the vitamin biotin. If this condition is not recognized and treated, its signs and symptoms typically appear within the first few months of life, although it can also become apparent later in childhood.
Profound biotinidase deficiency, the more severe form of the condition, can cause seizures, weak muscle tone (hypotonia), breathing problems, hearing and vision loss, problems with movement and balance (ataxia), skin rashes, hair loss (alopecia), and a fungal infection called candidiasis. Affected children also have delayed development. Lifelong treatment can prevent these complications from occurring or improve them if they have already developed.
Partial biotinidase deficiency is a milder form of this condition. Without treatment, affected children may experience hypotonia, skin rashes, and hair loss, but these problems may appear only during illness, infection, or other times of stress.
How common is biotinidase deficiency?
Profound or partial biotinidase deficiency occurs in approximately 1 in 60,000 newborn
How do people inherit biotinidase deficiency?
This condition is inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern, which means both copies of the BTDgene in each cell have mutations. The parents of an individual with biotinidase deficiency each carry one copy of the mutated gene, but they typically do not have any health problems associated with the condition.
She was an absolute angel and back up to her birth weight. Go Lily!!
Isabel has Grandma Shawna wrapped around her finger and got too play with her lipstick!
Isaac's class got to go on a field trip to the Arboretum. I was sad I couldn't go. Again, but new he would have fun whether I was there or not.
Thanks for the pics Jocelyn.
Oh Isabel. Always dressed up in something. She's wearing a skirt on her head!
November 7th
Time with Auntie Stacie and Auntie Jenny!
Putting on press-on-nails
I love her chubby little hands.
She wanted them on her toes too!
After nails came the makeover!
Then we went to Isaac's Fall Festival at school!
Isabel was over the moon excited about the animals.
Isaac was all about the games but did want to ride the horse!
Love his smile!
November 8th
Good morning sunshine!!
Stacies boys' school does a funny exercise video that sings about gummy bears she pulled up the video on youtube and was teaching Isaac and Isabel.
It was a big hit.
With lots of laughs and lots of smiles!
Isabel... the sticker maniac
Two weeks old. Lily is such a sweet baby. I just love her to pieces. She is a great nurser. And a decent sleeper. She wakes up 2.5-3 hours and has given me three four hour stretches. She loves to be held, loves to cross her little frog legs, loves to stretch and loves her mommy. She really is such a good baby and I am so so soooo grateful for that. Atticus and Isabel-- holy cow. They gave me a run for my money. She is a little toot factory and makes the funniest grunt sounds. She is adored by each and every one of us although I think Isaac may say he loves her the most!!

She was like this in almost every ultrasound pic. Always had her hands covering her face! And yes, she has her thumb in her mouth!
Oh my heart... I seriously can't handle her sweetness.
Straight from a loving Heavenly Father and protective big brother into our arms! And we couldn't' be happier. We love you Lily-Loo.
