Atticus is a bit of a scardy cat. So when he see's or hears something scary he runs to the kithen pantry and closes the door! Silly boy.

Preschool Assessment...
I got to meet with Mrs. Gavaghan this week to go over Atticus' progress this year. Notice he got a check plus in each category (sorry to brag- but I know its mostly fam that looks at the blog- so I can!!).
House update... driveway and front steps concrete poored- cabinets are in- doors are on- painting started- mantle and railing up. They are scheduled to start granite and tile next week! It's starting to look like a house!

He knows his colors, shapes, his name in print, his friends' names in print, the alphabet (all upper- 17 lower), numeral recognition 1-10, oral counting 1-19 (he know's the twenties are next but there all over the place 21-24-22-29), days of the week, months of the year, and AB patterns!
It has been such a good experience for all of us. We are so proud of his new found independence and his on-going love for learning. I had to laugh out loud when Mrs. Gavaghan told me that "not only is he smart but very particular!" Don't I know it lady!!
Atticus' School Program. "Books on the Move" It was absolutely DARLING. He was SO excited. Eric and I were smiling from ear to ear. Atticus did GREAT. He was quite the little performer. They "danced" to the song "From Head to Toe" ... 'I am a (animal) and this is how I dance. I can do it. Can you do it?' Atticus' favorite dance move was kicking like a donkey!
After the program we were told that he deserved a grammy!
Diggin in the dirt. We drove out to Sunnyvale to check out preschools for next year and had to stop by the house. They were painting so we couldn't go inside but Atticus didn't mind. He played in the dirt for TWO HOURS! He was in heaven.
He found many letters with broken pieces of brick. Most importantly the letter "A"

My sweet hubby surprised me with a spa treatment on Saturday! It was two hours of complete heaven and relaxation!
Mr. Atticus....
.. and the funny thing's he's said or done...
1. In his prayer he thanked Heavenly Father for, a) the rainbow hiding behind the clouds and sun. b)for his family and that they are nice to him.
2. Told me that he needs to go to the dentist because he has triangle teeth.
3. Almost every morning he sings the "Good Morning" song to Isaac.
4. "But if I had 3 eyes I wouldn't be modest!"
5. "Maybe my bones are playing a game and thats what makes my tummy hurt!"

What a fun week you had! Atticus is a super star! I love preschool evaluations. That feeling of knowing your child is smart is the best feeling ever! Your house coming along great and baby Issac is so adorable. You can he is Atticus's brother, but he has his own look. I love that.
