He eats.. walks.. and cuddles.. with his best friend "boon."
I wasn't kidding when I said Atticus LOVES balloons.
I had to take Atticus the ER last Wednesday. He had a fever of 104.5 and diarrhea. To make a long and sad story short, he somehow came in contact w/SALMONELLA **let me assure you... IT WAS NOT FROM OUR HOUSE- I promise I am a good mother, otherwise Eric & I would have it** At least that's what the Dr.s told me. It has been awful. Absolutely positvley awful. They did a bunch of tests and my poor little guy's intestinal system was bleeding and the acid from the diarrhea ate away his little tushy's skin. Meaning, the 5 MILLION time's he had diarrhea, his little body shook he cried so hard. Needless to say MANY tears have been shed. Thank goodness for prescription strength diaper rash cream, motrin, and answered prayers, that stinkin' thing is on it's way out (I think). We go in next Monday to have him tested again. I have never in my life experienced such heart breaking pain. It is the most horrible thing, watching and knowing your baby is in pain and knowing there is nothing I can do. Like I said many tears have been shed.
Why does this have anything to do with this post you ask... because Atticus LOVES balloons and I LOVE him. So yes, I paid $3 for this "boon" and would have paid $500 so that my sweet little boy could cuddle with it!

Poor Atticus. I can't believe he got that somewhere. SO CRAZY. The poor kid has had a rough few weeks. I am glad he is on the mend. I bet you are simply exhausted. I am so sorry he was so sick. The balloon was worth every stinkin' penny!!!!!!
Cindy and Eric, I am so sorry for what has happened to your little guy. I want you to know that Salmonella is something he could have picked up outside, off the bottom of a shoe, under cooked or mishandled food preparation from outside the home. Don't blame yourself! It's part of nature. Thank goodness you took him to the ER - they don't call Salmonella a pathogen for nothing. The pictures of him with the balloon is way to cute. We pray for a speedy and complete recovery of that great little guy.
Oh my goodness...poor little guy! I can't imagine how horrible that was for you...and him for that matter! The feeling of helplessness you have when they are sick (especially sick enough to go to the ER!) is so heavy. I'm so glad he was so easily pleased with a balloon. Fevers are scary and it doesn't help to have the added pains that he was going through. I'm so glad he's doing better now! Salmonilla is a scarry thing!
poor kido. i hope that you are all feeling better. that sounds like an awful, awful week for everyone! take care and thanks for the super cute christmas card!
That's no good! Glad you got him taken care of! Cheap "prizes" are good, too. My kids loved HEB for that boon reason. :) All your Thanksgiving and Christmas decorating is sooooooo cute!
Oh.my.gosh!!! The POOR little guy! That must have been soooo heartbreaking to see him so absolutely miserable! I am so sorry!!! That's awful! The poor little guy deserves a new balloon everyday for the rest of his life for that one.
Hey Cindy.. I found your blog!!! I know how you are feeling about this. About a month ago Jake had the same diarrhea. It is soooooo awful. He would cry and he got such a horrid rash complete with blisters and sores. I felt so bad. I knew CPS was coming to get me... I'm so glad that Atticus and Jake are all better now and let's hope they never get it again... Glad the balloon made him happy... It was worth every penny.... :o)
